NNOTB #56
AI curator
The figure holds its ground with a sideways glance that reads as wary rather than aggressive. Dense layered strokes build the body into something heavy and ruffled, while the plain yellow beak and white chest patch cut through the darkness with blunt simplicity. The flat blue field keeps everything still, and the shadow anchors the figure to a surface, giving the restless mark-making an unexpected calm.

Both works place a densely stroked figure against the same flat cobalt blue field, making the background color a shared formal anchor despite the very different subjects.

NNOTB #57
Where #56 uses radiating strokes to suggest softness and wariness, title neighbor #57 deploys the same radiating line energy across a figure whose large tooth-filled opening and bulging eyes carry a sharply different emotional register, showing the same stroke pattern doing opposite work.
