The face pushes outward rather than receding: white cross marks and the tooth row hold the eye at the surface while red, purple, and blue loops pile up behind them. The asymmetry between the two eye zones — one wider, one compressed — gives the arrangement an off-balance quality that reads as unease rather than calm. The grey ground keeps the dense layering from becoming airless.
