A skull-like arrangement surfaces from dense, overlapping loops—two mismatched hollow shapes peer out from tangled blue and teal. The zigzag marks below read as both grin and grimace, lending the face an unsettled duality. Pale vertical lines drape across the surface like rain or static, partially dissolving the form back into pattern. The mood hovers between confrontation and cartoon humor.

Scrimshaw1
Both use concentric loops for hollows and zigzag marks for teeth, but Scrimshaw1 relies on a single blue contour over soft washes while this work buries the same motifs under dozens of overlapping colored lines.

Scrimshaw3
Scrimshaw3 foregrounds thick black outlines to separate multiple rounded heads, whereas here no single line weight dominates and the face dissolves into competing strands of blue, teal, and yellow.
