Coda: Two Landscapes
Two landscapes to end the wing. They were painted on March 15, 2023, in the two hours after the collection piece, and they are the last Rawblocks works. There is no head in either one. A sun sets through a stand of trees, and light falls through a forest onto a floor of fallen trunks.
They hang here as a coda, apart from the rooms, because they look like nothing else in the series. The brushwork is the series' brushwork, soft discs of color with scribble and line over them, turned for once on trees and sky.
Two Landscapes
Both painted on March 15, 2023, the sunset first and the forest half an hour later.

Rawblocks #64
A sunset through trees. A yellow sun blazes at the top with rays of pink, blue and yellow, and under it a stand of red-trunked trees with green crowns stands on a field of gold and orange, ruled with dark lines like a floor. The whole picture is painted in soft discs with scribble over them, and the sun's rays reach every corner. With 831 recorded strokes it is one of the two most worked drawings in the series.

Rawblocks #65
Light through a forest. Tall dark trees stand at the sides and a beam of pale light falls between them onto a clearing, where fallen trunks lie in the foreground painted in brown and red. Soft discs of white and lilac float in the light. Half an hour after the sunset, the light has moved from the sky to the ground, and the picture is dark except where it falls. With 1,061 recorded strokes it is the most worked drawing in the Rawblocks, and the last.
Compare with #64, in this roomClosing
The sun in the first picture is the sun-face of the series without its face. Look at it once more, then at the forest, where the light falls on nothing but trees. That is where the Rawblocks end.
